SERP Snippet Preview Tool
Type your page title, meta description and URL to see a live Google-style preview on mobile and desktop. The tool measures pixel width, which is what Google actually uses to cut titles, so you know what searchers will see. Switch to Bulk to check up to 100 pages at once: paste URLs and the tool reads each live title and meta description, or paste your own “title | description” lines.

How to use the SERP preview tool
- Paste your page title. The bar turns red if it is likely to be cut.
- Paste your meta description and the page URL.
- Switch between Mobile and Desktop to check both layouts.
- Edit until both lines fit and read well, then copy them into your SEO plugin (Rank Math, Yoast or your CMS).
Why pixel width matters more than characters
Most “title length” advice talks about characters, but Google trims a title once it runs out of horizontal space. That space is measured in pixels. A title full of wide capital letters gets cut sooner than one with narrow lowercase letters, even at the same character count. This tool measures your text with the same font family Google uses, so the warning is based on the real width.
When a title is cut, Google adds “…” and searchers lose the end of your message. If your main keyword or offer sits at the end, it may never be seen.
Tips for a snippet people click
- Lead with the topic. Put the main keyword or service near the start of the title.
- Add a reason to click. A year, price range, city, “free calculator” or “step-by-step” tells searchers what they get.
- Match the page. Google is more likely to keep your title when it clearly describes the page content.
- Write a unique description for every page. Repeating one description across the site gives Google no reason to use it.
- Answer the search in the description. One plain sentence that answers the question, then one that says what else is on the page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the ideal title length for Google?
Google cuts titles by pixel width, not a fixed character count. On a typical desktop result the visible width is roughly 600 pixels, which works out to about 50 to 60 characters for most English titles. Wide letters like W and M use more space than narrow ones like i and l, so two 55-character titles can behave differently.
Can I check titles and descriptions for many pages?
Yes. Choose Bulk and paste up to 100 URLs. The tool fetches each page’s live title and meta description and flags which ones are missing, too short or likely to be cut off. You can also paste “title | description” lines from a spreadsheet to test drafts before publishing.
How long should a meta description be?
Aim for one or two clear sentences, roughly 120 to 155 characters. Mobile results often show less than desktop, so put the most useful part first. A description is not a ranking factor by itself, but a clear one can earn more clicks.
Why does Google show a different title or description than mine?
Google may rewrite titles and pick other text from your page for the snippet when it thinks that better matches the search. Clear, specific titles that match the page content are rewritten less often.
Does this tool store what I type?
No. Everything runs inside your browser. Nothing you type is sent to our server or saved.
Is this exactly how Google will show my page?
It is a close approximation using Google’s fonts and typical widths. Google changes its layout often and can add extras like dates, ratings or images, so treat the preview as a guide.
